The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, and optimizes industrial cooling, HVAC, and power generation equipment. As the Company's frontline technical representative, this role delivers exceptional customer service while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation. The technician supports Health Assessments, TotalCare service agreements, planned maintenance, emergency service, equipment upgrades, commissioning, and outage activities throughout North America and internationally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 - 5 years of industrial field service, maintenance, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with large industrial HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, refrigeration, or power generation equipment
  • Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, LOTO, confined space, and safe work practices
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
  • TWIC (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain)
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial HVAC, cooling, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance
  • Commission new equipment and verify proper system performance
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, piping, controls, and instrumentation issues
  • Perform Health Assessments and document equipment condition and recommendations
  • Support TotalCare service agreements through inspections and performance monitoring
  • Conduct vibration analysis, leak detection, pressure testing, thermal profiling, and operational testing
  • Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak repairs in accordance with EPA regulations
  • Support glycol removal, flushing, winterization/de-winterization, coil replacement, heat exchanger repairs, cooling tower maintenance, and piping modifications
  • Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and OEM documentation
  • Complete electronic service reports and communicate findings to customers
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, testing equipment, and inventory
  • Support emergency outages and on-call assignments
  • Train customers and mentor junior technicians
  • Identify aftermarket opportunities and recommend equipment upgrades
  • Support warranty investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, customer safety requirements, and company policies
