About The Position

This Field Service Technician role is located in Bakersfield, CA. Our organization works with partner companies to source qualified talent for their open roles. This position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. Unless specifically stated otherwise, this role is "On-Site" at the location detailed in the job post. The Bakersfield, CA team accepts applications year-round for our Field Technician roles. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience performing service repairs.
  • Experience with repairs and maintenance using special tools and Technical Manual procedures, particularly on specialized machines.
  • Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostics.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of Wirtgen or construction equipment.
  • Ability to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in off-road, construction, or heavy equipment.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with Service ADVISOR™ or similar diagnostic tools preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Possession of toolset in alignment with the company’s requirements of the role. Tool checklist will be completed in the interviewing process.
  • Must be able to drive and travel in a vehicle.
  • For the purposes of driving, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • This position is classified as a Type 2 A Type 2 driver is defined as an employee who does not possess a CDL Class A or B license but operates a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) exceeding 10,000 pounds.
  • Type 2 Drivers are required to hold and maintain a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (ME Certificate) in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • This includes periodic medical recertification and adherence to FMCSA compliance reviews.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced or Master Service Technician certifications and degree in Diesel Repairs, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field.
  • Previous experience working on the John Deere line and competitive products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on Wirtgen and John Deere construction equipment.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in required Service Training programs.
  • Stay updated on Wirtgen, John Deere, and competitive products.
  • Maintain the condition of the mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools, and equipment.
