About The Position

Performs multiple tasks associated with field installation, service, maintenance, troubleshoot and repair of surface wellhead systems. This role involves working independently to install new products and conduct repairs of Vault Pressure Control equipment, ensuring minimal disruption for customers while managing expenses and maintaining assets. Duties may also include working in the shop during training or when not on service jobs. The technician will handle customer complaints professionally, maintain effective communication with Company Representatives regarding job procedures and spare parts, and record critical dimensions to ensure proper assembly. Responsibilities also include shipping correct equipment and tooling, preparing Field Service Orders and other reports, and completing Tally Books or other forms to communicate job details and customer feedback. The role requires working safely in compliance with VPC EHS and quality processes, completing shift reports and logs, and the ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years field service tech experience in the oil/gas industry.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Demonstrated good working knowledge of mechanical processes.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • At least one year mechanical, electronic and hydraulic related experience.
  • Demonstrated good customer service skills – communication skills, positive interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated good organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, vocational, or military training or related experience.
  • Surface Wellhead installation and repair experience.

Responsibilities

  • Field service, assembly, and repair of new, reman, and customer property.
  • Plan and coordinate activities with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems, and eliminating future operational service difficulties per job specification.
  • Provide field service on a 24-hour on-call basis for existing and new customers.
  • Install new products and conduct repairs of Vault Pressure Control equipment.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Maintain effective communication with Company Representative on issues including job procedures and spare parts requirements.
  • Record critical dimensions to ensure assembly will work and obtains and reviews product assembly/running procedures.
  • Responsible for shipping correct equipment and tooling to location for service jobs.
  • Prepare and submit Field Service Orders and other region required reports after each job is complete.
  • Complete a Tally Book or other forms to communicate procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions and customer questions and complaints.
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with VPC EHS and quality processes and procedures.
  • Complete shift reports and logs.
  • Climb up and down ladders from work locations.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Work 12 to 14-hour shifts, day and night on a rotating schedule and weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
