About The Position

Motivate is seeking qualified Station Technicians (Field Service Technicians) to join our New York bikeshare team. The technician will help maintain station terminals and station components. Traveling around the system, the station technician will check the docking stations and provide maintenance to ensure proper operations. The starting schedule will be Friday - Monday, evening shift. Please note that schedules are subject to change as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and for business need.

Requirements

Display technical aptitude for both electronics and mechanical systems
Previous experience in technical troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving issues
A background with electronics, repair, construction, or related preferred
Safety-minded first
Comfortable with hand and power tools
Valid driver's license and can pass a motor vehicle record check
Comfortable driving, stopping, and working in busy, outdoor urban environments
Can lift to 75 pounds and can stoop, bend, and stand for long periods
Technologically proficient, comfortable using smartphone apps, email, chat/text, and can learn new technology and software applications

Nice To Haves

Forklift and pallet jack experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Complete maintenance and test functionality of station components performing all diagnostic testing, troubleshooting station malfunctions and issues, both simple and complex, and completing both minor and major repairs
Ensure that power is maintained to the network of stations, replacing and returning batteries to the depot for charging, inspecting batteries for safety and functionality
Demonstrate expertise in all technical aspects and components of station hardware and software
Operate a motor vehicle and ride a bicycle throughout an urban environment
Ensure that all necessary reporting is accurate, complete, and timely
Complete special projects assigned by management team
