About The Position

Wavetronix is seeking a Field Service Technician passionate about traffic solutions, ITS, DOT, IMSA, and Smart Sensors. This role involves solving customer technical problems, professionally guiding them through the installation, training, and support of Wavetronix products. The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy individual who enjoys building long-term customer relationships and is eager to contribute to creating innovative technologies that enhance road safety and efficiency. Similar titles include Field Service Engineer, Traffic Systems Technician, ITS Field Technician, Technical Support Engineer, and Traffic Signal Technician.

Requirements

  • Master installation and configuration of Wavetronix core products.
  • Have a basic understanding of networking.
  • Previous field service experience in traffic signal/ITS cabinets.
  • Technical degree or certifications in ITS/Traffic industry.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cooperate with the team and share information across the organization.
  • Self-motivated and enjoy working on and with teams.
  • Intrinsically motivated and enjoy working with the customer.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt workflow to changing project schedules.
  • Willing and able to travel to multiple locations.
  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively via email, phone, and in person.
  • Candidates should be willing to get their hands dirty and solve the customer's problem, document the problem, and teach others how they solved that problem.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service and customer support during field visits and phone support.
  • Manage all on-site installation and configuration of products.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Demonstrate and troubleshoot Wavetronix products.
  • Provide technical training to customers (typically up to 10 people) as needed, either in the field or in the office.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Document processes and produce timely and detailed trip reports.
  • Keep track of current projects and support cases in CRM.
