About The Position

Separators, Inc. is North America’s leading independent service provider specializing in the repair, service, and remanufacturing of industrial centrifuge equipment (Alfa Laval, Tetra Pak, GEA). The company supports food and dairy manufacturers by keeping their critical production equipment running safely and efficiently. Separators, Inc. is a service‑first company that invests in its people, values teamwork, and does the job the right way. The company is seeking a Field Service Technician to support industrial centrifuge equipment at customer facilities, primarily in the dairy and food processing industries. This is a hands‑on, mechanical, customer‑facing role with extensive travel and strong growth opportunities. No centrifuge experience is required, and technicians with strong mechanical aptitude and transferable field or industrial skills are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hand‑tool experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (reports, email, documentation)
  • Ability to travel up to ~75%
  • Availability for scheduled weekend and after‑hours rotation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial or plant maintenance
  • Experience in field service (any industry)
  • Experience in mechanical repair, rotating equipment, pumps, motors, or conveyors
  • Experience in HVAC, manufacturing, or food & beverage environments
  • Technical trades or military experience
  • Trade school or technical training
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on industrial centrifuges
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process‑related issues
  • Provide onsite technical support and customer training
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and according to customer and company standards
  • Communicate job status, parts needs, and recommendations to customers
  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation
  • Follow up with customers after service to confirm proper operation
  • Participate in rotating after‑hours and weekend service support
  • Travel to customer sites across the Midwest
