Do you enjoy traveling, working directly with customers, and making things work better? As a Field Service Technician III at Global Finishing Solutions (GFS), you’ll be the face of a premium brand trusted across the refinishing industry. You won’t just install equipment; you’ll help people succeed in their business every day. You’ll install, troubleshoot, and maintain our industry-leading paint booths and finishing systems, while training customers and ensuring they get the most out of their investment. Every day is different, every challenge is unique, and your work truly matters.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in a technical field and 6–8 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial equipment. (Equivalent experience may be substituted at a rate of two years of experience for each year of education.)
  • A strong understanding of electrical controls, PLCs, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment.
  • A natural ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems and solve problems in the field with confidence.
  • Experience making field modifications to electrical controls and mechanical systems to improve equipment performance.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to clearly document service work and complete accurate reports in a timely manner.
  • A passion for sharing knowledge by coaching and training junior technicians in the field.
  • Experience safely operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other standard business software.
  • Experience working in confined spaces and following all applicable safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and upgrading complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Programming and commissioning VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs.
  • Guiding contractors through the installation and wiring of control systems, including temperature, humidity, combustible gas, and other critical sensors, using blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Using advanced diagnostic tools to identify equipment issues, determine root causes, and resolve problems.
  • Leading classroom and hands-on training for customers.
  • Mentoring fellow Field Service Technicians.
  • Implementing field improvements to controls, electrical systems, air replacement equipment, and other mechanical components.
  • Partnering with the Engineering team to turn real-world feedback into product enhancements.
