About The Position

EnerSys is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Technician II to join our growing team! In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates at peak performance. You will be responsible for providing timely and effective on-site service, maintenance, and equipment repair. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A passing score of 70% or higher on our Field Service Tech assessment
  • 1 ½+ years of experience in field service or a related role, preferably in the electrical field.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as schematics and manuals.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, such as bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Must be able and willing to do overnight travel
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Risk of electrical shock.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic electrical understanding and experience with test equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to perform basic installation, preventative maintenance, and basic repair of battery equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose common technical issues, replace defective parts, and reassemble equipment.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance and training to customers on the safe operation of their equipment.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely, efficient, and professional service.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to understand their needs, explain technical details, and resolve concerns.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the company to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete all required safety and compliance training.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions.
  • Complete timely reports, including service reports, expense reports, and quality alerts.
  • Manage company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment.
