About The Position

The Field Service Technician II – will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.

Requirements

  • High school/GED General Education required.
  • 3+ years or more Related maintenance experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of: High voltage electrical power systems
  • Intermediate Knowledge: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Intermediate Knowledge: Low voltage and medium voltage electrical power systems
  • Intermediate Knowledge: Drawings
  • Intermediate Knowledge: Circuit theory
  • Intermediate Knowledge: OSHA regulations
  • Intermediate Knowledge: Equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc.)
  • Intermediate Knowledge: Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation
  • Intermediate Knowledge: Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)
  • Intermediate Knowledge: ANSI/NETA/MTS
  • Intermediate Knowledge: SCADA systems
  • Advanced: Hand tools
  • Functional Competencies Include: Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.
  • Domestic travel 5-15% required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.
  • Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes direction from senior site personnel.
  • Sets positive example for junior technicians.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage and medium voltage AC power systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
  • Uses hand tools effectively and appropriately.
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumables.
  • Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
  • Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.
  • Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
  • Interfaces with project subcontractors.
  • Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
  • Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.
  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
