About The Position

The Field Service Technician II - Generator is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training classes, and maintaining a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. Work is to be performed in a neat and orderly fashion, with a constant focus on improving methods, work areas, and safety standards. The role involves inspecting components to maximize the reuse of parts to control repair costs and completing required documentation using appropriate software to detail repairs and account for repair times. The technician must monitor job expenses against repair estimates and inform the supervisor of any cost overruns before job completion. A positive approach to work, supportive conduct, and setting standards for the team are expected. Contributions to team efforts include accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations, and potentially training or mentoring others. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Formal Education High School diploma or GED
  • Experience 3-4 years
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Successfully completed all required training curriculum to be designated Service Field Tech II

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Wears proper personal protective equipment.
  • Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes.
  • Maintains necessary set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company owned equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.
  • Works in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
  • Inspects components to insure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs.
  • Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times.
  • Monitors job expenses versus repair estimates and ensures that the supervisor is aware of any cost over run, prior to the job being completed.
  • Approaches work in a positive manner, maintains conduct that is supportive of the work Team and sets the standard for others to follow.
  • Contributes to Team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
  • Trains and/or mentors others in department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
