About The Position

Enerflex requires a Controls designer with background in drafting Control Panel and Junction Box Layouts and developing detail ladder wiring diagrams from P&ID (Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams), engineering sketches, specifications and/or vendor drawings. This position involves representing the company professionally, submitting accurate field service reports, and performing repairs and maintenance on electric generators, switchgear, electronic controls, and diesel and gas engines (including LPG). The role includes performing field service, repairs, and installation of customer equipment, operating company service vehicles, and potentially performing in-shop service. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and diagnosing customer complaints using various test equipment, performing routine maintenance and inspections, and working at both onshore and offshore locations. The technician will hook up rental generators following all applicable codes and safety guidelines, troubleshoot machinery/equipment, perform installation and commissioning of new packages, supervise maintenance and installation as required, provide basic leadership and training to new technicians, maintain positive customer relationships, and participate in on-call rotations. The role requires recognizing and complying with Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ power generation field service work experience
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances
  • Ability to lead, direct, motivate and supervise team members
  • Possess a well-rounded knowledge of engine, generator, and operations
  • Highly motivated and well organized
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Clean drivers abstract must be provided at time of hire

  • experience with Jenbacher, Waukesha, and Cat considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Represents the company in a professional manner at all times while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Enerflex visions and values.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
  • Repairs and maintains electric generators, switchgear, electronic controls, diesel and gas engines including LPG.
  • Performs field service, repairs and installation of customers’ equipment.
  • Operate Company service vehicle and applicable equipment to include lift trucks.
  • Maybe requested at times to perform in shop service or repairs on customers’ equipment when applicable.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose customer complaints to determine the most effective or efficient repair using test equipment, electronic volt-ohm meter, megometer, battery and starting analyzer, load banks, and trade tools.
  • Perform routine Level 1, 2 and 3 scheduled maintenance and inspection according to manufacturer’s specification including removal of generator/engine set for repair or replacement.
  • Position will consist of onshore and offshore locations.
  • Hook up rental generators following all applicable local, state, and federal codes, regulations and safety guidelines.

  • Responsible for providing basic leadership and training to new Field Technicians.
  • Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Be available to participate in on call rotation for after hour calls as required
