Compensation Range: 46,400-57,900 plus sales bonus Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location. Job PurposeEnersys is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician I to join our growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for providing on-site service, maintenance, and repair for our diverse range of products and equipment at customer locations. You will specialize in our Energy Systems solutions, providing support to customers who rely on our products for essential services like telecommunications, data centers, emergency power, and more. This includes maintaining and servicing uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switchgear, and other critical equipment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesField Service Expertise: Shadow experienced technician on service calls. Perform basic equipment checks Travel to customer sites to assist with installation and repair of equipment. Under supervision, perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity. Customer Focus: Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely, efficient, and professional service. Effectively communicate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer support and service delivery. Act as a liaison between the customer and the company to ensure customer satisfaction. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards. Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Complete all required safety and compliance training. Administration and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions. Complete timely reports, including service reports, expense reports, and quality alerts as directed. Manage company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment.

Requirements

  • Basic mathematical, and mechanical aptitude; foundational electrical knowledge (Aptitude exam is part of application process; 70% passing score required)
  • Must hold a valid electrical license or be willing to obtain an electrical trainee card as a condition of employment, in accordance with industry requirements
  • Availability to work non-standard hours in a 24/7 work week.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for insurability.
  • This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific drivers license and have additional driving requirements.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call.
  • Risk of electrical shock.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
