About The Position

HOLT Industrial Systems is seeking an experienced Air Compressor Field Service Technician for our New Braunfels, Texas office. The Field Service Technician performs field support activities, which involve start-up, preventive and corrective maintenance within the assigned territory. The selected candidate will have the air compressor repair experience, knowledge, and skills for effective utilization of related equipment and proven troubleshooting processes and procedures. Experience with Sullair Air Compressors is required. Must have a valid driver license and a safe driving record. This is not a rotational position. This is a permanent full-time position, hours are Mon-Fri 7am to 5pm. Some weekends will be required. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; Collaborate with key internal/external resources; Participate in ongoing self-development.

Requirements

  • No less than 3 years of electrical & mechanical industrial compressor and electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of customer equipment operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to correctly troubleshoot and repair all components and brands of air compressors including large electrical, centrifugal, oil-free, reciprocal piston equipment.
  • Ability to properly use multimeters, amp meters, vibration and infrared meters, megger.
  • Ability to successfully perform duties while meeting Company and Customer’s safety requirements as per OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to read and comprehend P&I drawings, ID/GA drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of high-pressure drill packages.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and components.
  • Technical understanding of electrical and electronic systems, microprocessors, VSD, Industrial Control and Automation Management, Timers, Phase Monitors, Star and Triangle starting configuration, Soft Starters, Direct Starters, Variable Speed, PLC Management, Wye-Delta.
  • Knowledge of different types of piping such as types of copper, black, aluminum and galvanized.
  • Understanding and servicing of cooling towers, water quality management, and care.
  • Understanding of regenerative dryers and controls; refrigerated dryers are a plus.
  • Diesel compressor troubleshooting, maintenance, and set up for rental fleet.
  • Data logger installation, understanding systems and install locations of devices.
  • Experience with Sullair Air Compressors is required.
  • An excellent driving record and being able to drive a service van or pickup truck are required.
  • Verifiable air compressor repair experience.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • A strong background in mechanical and electrical is necessary.
  • Must have their own tools, meters, and refrigerated equipment to successfully complete all jobs assigned.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must be able to undergo a background process.

Nice To Haves

  • Oil field safety experience is a plus.
  • EPA certifications with Freon experience are a plus.
  • Sullair factory-certified level one (minimum).
  • Spanish speaking is a plus to communicate with customers.
  • Professional Technical Institutional training preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field support activities, including start-up, preventive, and corrective maintenance within the assigned territory.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all components and brands of air compressors, including large electrical, centrifugal, oil-free, and reciprocal piston equipment.
  • Properly use multimeters, amp meters, vibration and infrared meters, and megger.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning, and setting controls.
  • Set up rigging equipment and safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors, and associated components.
  • Safely use all hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
  • Help with the manufacturing of skid packages for the oil field.
  • Install blue Transair piping, fittings, and anchors.
  • Service cooling towers, manage water quality, and perform related care.
  • Service regenerative dryers and controls; refrigerated dryers are a plus.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and set up diesel compressors for the rental fleet.
  • Install data loggers and understand systems and device installation locations.
  • Complete paperwork daily.
  • Provide on-call response during the assigned week.
