Field Service Technician (FST) Job Description We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as an Installation and Service Technician. As a key part of the team, the Installation and Service Technician works in retail stores to install and repair Inventory Control and Video equipment. What you will do Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on retail products and equipment at customer sites. Keep track of your service calls via computer, including products serviced, work performed, hours and parts utilized. Maintain an accurate parts inventory at levels that insure a first time fix. Demonstrate and train customers how to use their equipment properly. Keep your manager in the loop about your customer's satisfaction, any potential sales opportunities or any recurring problems. Take care of other tasks as needed Qualifications What we look for: High School Diploma or GED 2 years Associates degree in Electronics and/or Networking, or technical military equivalent required. Must have a valid driver’s license 5 years prior work experience in related field. Competed basic EAS and Video training and certifications Highly organized, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. Higher level networking knowledge. Meets or exceeds ratings as Level 2 tech for at least 3 years Ability to lead a team of in house and subcontractor personnel. Able to service all retail sold products. Assist and mentor lower level techs. Advanced trouble shooting skills. Customer focused at all levels. Certifications in all video solutions sold and serviced by the retail organization Certifications in all RFID solutions sold and serviced by the retail organization Maintains a positive attitude with strong leadership skills. General knowledge of electronics required. Willing to obtain or have State License as required. (State Dependent) Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power tools. Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly. Must be capable of working independently or as a team Working Knowledge of MS Office and basic PC skills. Excellent written and oral skills Ability to travel and work overtime as needed. Able to read and interpret blueprints and Scope documents Hiring Hourly Range: $28.17 – $38.77 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
