About The Position

The Field Service Tech II will conduct all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations. This role requires wearing proper personal protective equipment and complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules. The technician will approach work in a positive manner, maintain conduct that is supportive of the work team, and contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. This position may involve training and/or mentoring others in the department. The core responsibilities include performing testing, commissioning, and maintenance of low and medium voltage electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, power cables, circuit breakers, and grounding systems. The role also involves conducting diagnostics and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems in low and medium voltage substations to ensure optimal performance and safety. The technician will attend and successfully complete required training classes, maintain a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry, and develop and track project-specific documentation, including test reports, equipment data sheets, and compliance records. The position requires working in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways to improve methods of work, work area, and safety standards, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-4 years of experience
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge with various switchgear testing software.
