About The Position

The Field Service Technician I represents PGT Innovations in a professional manner while supporting the diagnosis and repair of window and door products at customer job sites and residences. This entry-level role works under the direction of senior technicians and team leaders, assisting with service tasks, documentation, and site preparation while delivering a positive customer experience.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Comfort using tablets, mobile devices, and computers for documentation and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products such as Outlook and Windows.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Clean driving record in accordance with PGT Innovations’ safe driving policy.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and perform hands-on work in various job-site environments.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of windows and doors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior Field Service Technicians with on-site service work, including lifting, carrying, staging parts, and handling tools.
  • Complete assigned tasks such as picking up and delivering parts, warehouse organization, and site preparation.
  • Clean installed products at customer sites as needed and ensure job sites are returned to their original condition.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Unpackage and inspect incoming parts to ensure they meet quality guidelines; document and report defects as required.
  • Assist with unloading delivery trucks and maintaining proper inventory of parts and supplies in the warehouse and service vehicles.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned service vehicles, ensuring safe operation at all times.
  • Document service calls accurately using mobile devices (iPad, laptop, or similar technology).
  • Submit completed service documentation promptly through the designated service software.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Follow all company, department, and safety policies while performing duties.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
