About The Position

PGT Windows & Doors, part of MITER Brands, is seeking a customer-focused Field Service Technician I to join our team in Pompano Beach, FL. This position is responsible for representing the company in a professional manner while diagnosing product issues, performing repairs, and delivering exceptional customer service in the field. This role works directly with homeowners, builders, distributors, and other customers to resolve service concerns while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of windows and doors.
  • Knowledge of the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to use computers, tablets, and mobile devices for documentation and communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Windows-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clean driving record in accordance with PGT's safe driving policy.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in field service, construction, maintenance, installation, repair, or related trades.
  • Experience working directly with homeowners and customers.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
  • Aerial Lift Certification or the ability to become qualified within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Represent PGT and MITER Brands professionally at all customer locations.
  • Diagnose window and door product issues and perform repairs in the field.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with customers, coworkers, builders, and distributors.
  • Complete assignments from Team Leaders and Senior Field Service Technicians, including picking up and delivering parts, supporting warehouse operations, and assisting with field repairs.
  • Assist senior technicians with lifting, carrying, and installing parts and tools at customer sites.
  • Clean installed products as needed and ensure customer homes and job sites are returned to their original condition.
  • Safely operate a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Utilize iPads, laptops, and other mobile devices to review schedules, document service events, and communicate updates.
  • Accurately document observations, repairs performed, and corrective actions taken using company software.
  • Submit completed service documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with fellow Field Service Technicians on larger service projects.
  • Maintain inventory levels of service parts, materials, and supplies in both the warehouse and service vehicle.
  • Inspect incoming parts to ensure they meet quality standards and document any issues requiring replacement.
  • Assist with unloading delivery trucks as scheduled.
  • Maintain service vehicles in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
