As a Field Service Specialist, you'll install, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling and automation equipment at customer sites. From dimensioning and weighing systems to barcode scanners and labeling equipment, you'll play a key role in keeping critical operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role where no two days look the same-you'll be working directly with customers, diagnosing issues, and ensuring systems perform at the highest level.

Requirements

  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently after training
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work directly with customers
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Basic to moderate computer skills (Microsoft Office and system configuration/troubleshooting)
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • High school degree or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years of mechanical and/or electrical experience
  • Experience with automation, material handling, or similar equipment
  • Technical training or education (vocational school, technical college, etc.)
  • Previous field service or customer-facing experience
  • Relevant technical training or hands-on experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites (~50%) to install, service, and support automation equipment (occasional weekends may apply)
  • Work hands-on with dimensioning systems, barcode scanners, labeling systems, and conveying equipment
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to support assembly and troubleshooting
  • Diagnose issues and implement solutions to keep systems running efficiently
  • Train customers and partners on equipment use, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs
  • Build strong customer relationships by delivering responsive, high-quality service
  • Identify opportunities for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) based on customer needs
  • Accurately document work, parts, and service history in internal systems
  • Support installations, maintenance, and service projects as needed
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and customers
