About The Position

In this role, you will work hands-on with industrial and electromechanical systems, supporting installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities at customer sites. You will play a key part in ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently in real-world environments. Your work will involve configuring and testing systems, diagnosing technical issues, and performing preventive maintenance to extend system life and performance. You will also engage directly with customers—providing guidance on system operation, resolving issues, and contributing to positive service experiences. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and applying structured troubleshooting practices, you will help maintain system reliability and support the continuous operation of critical infrastructure. This role offers variety, autonomy, and opportunities to develop practical technical expertise across electrical, mechanical, and networked systems while working in the field.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Engineering or associate’s degree, or equivalent technical/trade certification
  • 2+ years of experience in field service, technical support, or a related role, preferably with industrial or electromechanical systems
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues
  • Sound understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or network systems
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service approach
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, configuration, and testing of hardware and software systems
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues using structured troubleshooting techniques
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities to improve reliability and system lifespan
  • Provide technical support and user guidance on system operation and upkeep
  • Document service activities, including issues, actions taken, and parts used
  • Manage service tools and parts inventory to support efficient field operations
  • Follow safety practices and comply with site-specific and organizational requirements
  • Work with internal teams to resolve complex technical challenges
  • Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
