About The Position

Schneider Electric is seeking Field Service Representatives to join their U.S. Services business, focusing on servicing equipment that supports power distribution and critical power infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with customers, team members, and third-party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment in various environments. You will be a problem solver, customer-focused, and passionate about your work. The company provides direct product training and training on all digital and physical tools, along with service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, Military training or similar experience in electrical-related disciplines.
  • Ability to read blueprints/schematics.
  • Thorough understanding of principles of AC and DC power, various AC and DC supply circuit components.
  • 2+ years of field service repair and customer service with UPS (Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, power distribution and switchgear, seamless automatic transfer switches (ATS), power distribution units, electrical, electro-mechanical or electronics related equipment.
  • 2+ years in Field Services or equivalent industry experience.
  • Must possess good safety practices and adhere to the company’s safety procedures/policies (lock out tag out, comply with all safety programs and complete safety related trainings on time).
  • Identify hazards present in the work area and report all safety matters, incidents, near misses, to management or safety representative.
  • Safe driving and vehicle operations skills.
  • Skilled at utilizing test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operation manuals.
  • Ability to write service reports, correspondence, procedures, effectively present information and respond to customer questions.
  • Work frequently requires strenuous physical tasks, including bending, stooping and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Work outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, and dust.
  • Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time, including working in small confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • NFPA-70E or OSHA experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment.
  • Problem solve with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and District Service teams.
  • Complete field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets.
  • Work with management to resolve complex escalated issues.
  • Engage in continuous learning and training on various products, both in the field and in the classroom.
  • Travel throughout the region for local customer support or countrywide travel, including overnight travel.
  • Assist senior technicians and support Project Management on larger system start-ups.
  • Collaborate with larger teams of FSRs and Project Managers on higher complexity projects.
  • Act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues as required.
