Note: this position supports the rebar construction projects managed by the NRF Frostproof location. Projects will be based from the Frostproof area south to Miami. Hired candidate is expected to live within the area as daily visits to construction sites are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field, OR three (3) years of experience as a rebar detailer OR demonstrated construction project management experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Strong product knowledge and understanding of commercial construction.
  • Able to read blueprints and erection drawings.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites: must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to climb ladders, ride lifts and traverse roof systems.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years commercial construction or rebar product experience
  • Residing in the territory or willingness to relocate to the territory

Responsibilities

  • Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Willing to spend a great deal of time traveling to jobsites. It is not uncommon to be on the road a minimum of (3) days per week, and as many as (5). Scheduling of jobsite visits is often accomplished with short notice of sometimes as little as (1) working day.
  • Jobsite visits will consist of but not limited to talking with the site crew, walking through a building, which includes going on the roof of buildings both complete and during construction.
  • Communicate with Customers and/or Rod Busters on a regular basis and demonstrate problem-solving skills through a dialogue with the field. A “question and answer” process will be common to sort out problems and define the most efficient, cost-effective solution.
  • Involved in the investigative process of solving problems by working with individuals within the organization and by reviewing file information, shop drawings, and erection drawings.
  • Primarily responsible for initiating the solution to the problem or issues at the jobsite. This involvement may include pro-actively involving several individuals from other departments.
  • Expected to identify trends and problems and recommend solutions with a primary focus on representing the needs of the steel erector and Builder.
  • Written reports will be required for all jobsite visits made.
