About The Position

This role is for a technical specialist and primary customer support contact responsible for diagnosing and executing complex repairs to generators and components at customer sites. The Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic will join the Distribution Business in Avondale, AZ. The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $9000, relocation assistance, competitive pay, and benefits. Key responsibilities include performing repair activities on generators or components, engaging professionally with customers, utilizing diagnostic tools for maintenance and repairs, maintaining detailed service records, adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, pursuing ongoing development and certifications on Cummins products, and maintaining personal tools.

Requirements

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience
  • Advanced experience with electrical repair and maintenance
  • Proficient Diesel Engine experience
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components
  • Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems
  • Understanding switchgear schematics
  • Ability to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians/ Mechanics
  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • 3 years driving experience
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Completing repair activities on generators or components
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of service
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools
