About The Position

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/ Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in (Avondale, AZ). In this role, you will make an impact by completing repair activities on generators or components, engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner, performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools, maintaining detailed records of service, adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and undergoing ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products. You will also be responsible for maintaining your own tools.

Requirements

High level 2 FSPG tech
Reliable
Willing to tech junior Techs
At least 7 years of different types of loadbanks
Can troubleshoot all sizes of generators
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
Customer service experience

Nice To Haves

A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
A current valid license is required for this role
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Completing repair activities on generators or components

Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of service

Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
High Voltage / Low Voltage experience
Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products
Basic Diesel Engine experience
Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components
Able to perform repairs on ATS systems
Able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation
