About The Position

The Service & Repair Mechanic performs hands-on technical services for a wide variety of pumps, controls, and other types of rotating equipment. This position requires a motivated professional with a high degree of technical aptitude to provide both in-shop and field service to support Industrial and Municipal customers throughout upstate NY. Essential characteristics include good communication skills, customer service skills, teamwork, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and flexibility for reasonable travel.

Requirements

High school education.
Mechanical and/or electrical background required
Mechanical background required
Reasonable experience & proficiency with mobile devices and computers
Must be able to pass background and reference checks; as well as a drug test
Must maintain an active, REAL ID compliant driver’s license with a clean driving record, or a valid U.S. passport, as required for access to federal facilities

Nice To Haves

Comfortable working with residential or municipal customers is a plus
Minimum 2 years of pump or other rotating equipment maintenance & repair experience preferred
240VT Electrical experience is a plus
Machining experience is a plus
Effective verbal & written communication skills
Complete company-paid factory training
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, 100 lbs. assisted

Responsibilities

Repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pumps, blowers, motors, and controls
Equipment start-up commissioning and training
Prepare and maintain clear and accurate documentation for assigned work
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, coworkers, and suppliers
Maintain a safe, organized, clean & resourceful work environment to include the shop, individual work areas, and service vehicle
Understand and adhere to all safety-related policies, rules, and guidelines
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours service
Frequent day travel throughout upstate NY with some overnight travel required
Perform all other duties as assigned
