Job Summary The Field Service Manager provides leadership/direction for a group of field technicians responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial kitchen equipment across customer locations. This role ensures high‑quality service delivery, operational efficiency, and strong customer relationships. The manager provides technical guidance, oversees daily scheduling, and drives a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience managing technicians or leading service teams in commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC/R, or related technical fields.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a field based team.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, schedule, and support technicians performing installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Provide hands on technical solution-based guidance for complex service issues and ensure high quality workmanship.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and verify compliance with manufacturers, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to manage service requests, parts needs, and escalations.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of work orders, service reports, technician timekeeping, and invoicing documentation.
  • Ensures that productivity and staffing is appropriate to achieve results as outlined by Operations Director
  • Determines material and manpower requirements.
  • Manage inventory of parts, materials, and consumables; verify usage, monitor stock levels, and support replenishment.
  • Controls expenses within the scope of responsibility.
  • Adheres to purchasing programs with approved vendor agreements.
  • Oversee proper care, organization, and accountability of technician tools and equipment.
  • Optimize service van utilization, including vehicle organization, parts stocking, safety compliance, and efficient routing.
  • Complies with Holman’s vehicle program.
  • Maintain safe work practices across field and shop environments; enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Respond to urgent service needs and assist with after hours or high priority situations as required.
  • Participate in hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations for technicians.
  • Monitor labor and material costs and support adherence to budget expectations.
