The Field Service Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining diagnostic tools, directly impacting patient health and well-being. This position reports to the Field Service Manager and is part of the Field Service team, covering a service territory around Clifton, Elizabeth, Newark, and surrounding areas in North Central New Jersey. This role is fully remote and involves an overnight shift with hours to be determined, potentially eligible for shift differential pay.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent military experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation.
  • Ability to travel Monday-Friday within assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch/crawl, push/pull, and sit/stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, have good hand, and finger dexterity.
  • Residency north of Princeton, NJ required or ability to relocate.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants with applicable military experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Senior engineers encouraged to apply to be considered at a higher level.
  • Previous experience in a technical college major such as biomed, engineering, or related.
  • 2+ years’ experience of advanced troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications and/or service repair.
  • Developing positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, leading to increased customer satisfaction, and supporting long-term retention.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to handle troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair of Beckman Coulter equipment.
  • Provide excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter’s customers.
  • Deliver technical training on products to customers.
  • Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records.
  • Order repair parts and adhere to cycle times.
  • Utilize business systems such as OBI, Salesforce, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, understanding and meeting their requirements.
  • Assist in training newer Field Service Engineers.
