About The Position

This role is for a Field Service Engineer in Odessa, TX, who will provide in-person engineering support for heavy equipment assembly, installation, and troubleshooting. The engineer will act as a liaison between operations and the engineering hub, reporting field nonconformances to the quality and engineering team. Responsibilities include rapidly deploying to the field for situational awareness and troubleshooting, accompanying sales/operations managers for customer technical presentations, reviewing field installation procedures and manuals, and facilitating field trials of new products. The role involves developing rapport with field service personnel and customers through regular visits. The work time distribution is 50% traveling to the field and 50% in the office and shop.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Working knowledge of specific process technologies, procedures, products and applications.
  • Knowledgeable of wellhead, frac or pressure pumping product lines.
  • Oilfield product design experience.
  • Must be familiar with/willing and able to learn CAD and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot product non-conformances with little supervision on field service/plant location.
  • Ability to provide product life-of-field data for product improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assists shop & field operations by providing in person engineering support for heavy equipment assembly, installation and troubleshooting.
  • Functions as a “boots on the ground” liaison between the operations organization and the engineering hub.
  • Reports/relays field nonconformances to the quality and engineering team.
  • Stands ready to rapidly deploy to the field to gain “eyes-on” situational awareness and troubleshoot.
  • Accompanies sales/operations managers to the field to meet with customers to make technical presentations.
  • Reviews/audits field installation procedures, operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Facilitates field trials of new products to determine design limits and needed improvements.
  • Regularly visits field locations and to develop rapport with TechnipFMC field service personnel and customers.
