About The Position

As a Field Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting TOMRA’s mission to transform the way the world recycles—while always putting safety first. Whether working with equipment, customers, or travelling between sites, you’ll operate in a safety-focused environment where the wellbeing of our people and customers is a top priority. You’ll help keep our technology running smoothly by maintaining, repairing, and optimising equipment at customer sites. This is a hands-on, early-career role with a mix of planned and reactive work, offering variety, autonomy, and strong opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive team environment. You’ll be a key part of delivering a great customer experience while building your technical expertise. As the UK prepares for the introduction of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), TOMRA is entering an exciting growth phase and we're now looking for Field Service Engineers across London and the South East.

Requirements

  • A curious and solution-oriented mindset, with strong attention to detail
  • A customer-focused approach, with clear and confident communication skills
  • A foundation in electro-mechanical systems, with an interest in learning how to analyse, test, and repair complex equipment
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider, supportive team
  • Flexibility to travel and manage your own schedule in a field-based role
  • Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair TOMRA Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) at customer sites.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and roll-out of new machines as TOMRA expands across the UK.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, carrying out both preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and site contacts, providing professional and friendly service.
  • Travel throughout your region to support customers, with occasional overnight stays when required.
  • Accurately record service activities, machine status, and updates using digital systems and tools.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback, developing your technical knowledge, and maintaining high safety standards at all times.
