About The Position

This is a Field Engineering position that requires an array of technical competencies including the ability to perform product implementation, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. The position is at Beale AFB, CA. It is a Mission Essential (ME) position and the individual selected must be qualified to support U-2 operations under adverse conditions and impending or active hostilities. In addition, the position supports a USAF worldwide deployable program, so the individual selected must be deployable at a moment’s notice. An active Secret is required; TS/SCI clearance is preferred.

Requirements

  • Typically requires BS/BA in STEM discipline and five years relevant experience. Additional work experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelors degree.
  • Experience Isolating hardware and/or software faults – and performing corrective actions.
  • Five years of related military, data processing, system administration, radar, IR, or RF experience.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Air Force Flightline procedures and regulations.
  • Basic experience with the UNIX variants, such as RedHat and Solaris.
  • Working UNIX knowledge typically gained through five years of experience.
  • Aircraft maintenance and flightline experience.
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Security Clearance Type: Secret - Current Security Clearance Status: Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of/experience using military equipment accounts and Integrated Maintenance Data Systems (IMDS).
  • Experience working with SAR imagery and knowledge of radar theory.
  • Strong teamwork skills – the ability to interact productively with end users, analysts, other Raytheon personnel, and customers in a diverse team setting.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication capabilities.
  • TS/SCI clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze and characterize the performance of complex data processing systems.
  • Isolate faults – trace faults and distinguish between hardware and software fault sources.
  • Recommend, initiate, and complete actions to correct faults.
  • Maintain sensor equipment on/off aircraft.
  • Maintain associated support equipment.
  • Perform system checkouts prior to flights.
  • Integrate and update software and hardware.
  • Work with a diverse team of users, analysts, Raytheon and non-Raytheon contract personnel, and customers.
