Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Life Sciences, or Molecular Science
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical, software‑controlled instrument systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset
  • Ability to document service work accurately and follow quality and compliance procedures
  • Proficiency with PC‑based software and standard business tools (MS Word, Excel, Access)
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Willingness to travel 75%+ as business needs require
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of field service experience supporting electromechanical instruments
  • Experience with motion control, mechanical alignment, and hardware fabrication basics
  • Familiarity with laboratory tools such as multimeters and data acquisition equipment

Responsibilities

  • Provide front‑line field service and technical support for Abbott Molecular diagnostic instrument systems within an assigned territory.
  • Install, verify, maintain, and repair instrument systems in customer laboratory environments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and hardware/software upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot system issues remotely and on‑site to ensure reliable instrument performance.
  • Develop technical expertise across current and new Molecular instrument platforms.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and maintain accurate service and call documentation.
  • Support customers through training, demonstrations, and technical consultations.
  • Collaborate with service leadership and field teams; share feedback to improve service documentation and processes.
  • Participate in service meetings, training sessions, and provide backup support outside the assigned territory as needed.
