About The Position

At TOMRA Recycling, we develop sensor-based sorting technologies that help recover valuable resources and reduce waste worldwide. With thousands of systems installed across more than 100 countries, we support customers in building smarter and more sustainable recycling operations. For our Service team in India, we are looking for a hands-on and customer-focused Field Service Engineer based in Surat, India. In this role, you will support customers across India and selected APAC countries by ensuring the reliable operation of our sorting systems through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality technical support across India and the broader APAC region. The role ensures the optimal performance of our sorting equipment and supports customers in the Recycling industries through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training. The position plays a critical part in delivering excellent service experiences and long-term customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical service work
  • Experience in customer-facing technical support or field service environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of industrial equipment, automation, or machinery
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, and Teams
  • Independent and proactive working style
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Based in Surat or willing to relocate to Surat

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLC systems or industrial automation
  • Background in recycling, mining, heavy machinery, or industrial automation industries
  • Experience in B2B industrial service environments

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, repair, maintain, and upgrade TOMRA sorting systems at customer sites
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues independently and perform root cause analysis
  • Provide technical support on-site and remotely to minimize machine downtime
  • Train customer operators and maintenance teams on machine usage and maintenance procedures
  • Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and reliable support
  • Document service activities and provide detailed service reports
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards during all service activities
  • Collaborate closely with internal Service, Technical Support, Engineering, and Sales teams
  • Travel extensively across India and selected APAC regions (up to 80%)
