We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to support our growing customer base across Japan. In this role, you will be the technical expert on-site, ensuring our systems operate at peak performance while building strong relationships with customers and delivering outstanding service.

Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in Field Service, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Commissioning, or similar technical environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical issues in the field
  • Experience working directly with customers in industrial environments
  • Japanese: Business-level proficiency
  • English: Professional working proficiency
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Japan
  • Ability to travel internationally on occasion when required
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, testing, integration, and start-up of TOMRA sorting equipment
  • Performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical upgrades
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues
  • Providing on-site and remote technical support to customers
  • Optimizing machine performance and maximizing equipment uptime
  • Delivering customer training for operators and maintenance teams
  • Preparing detailed service reports and technical documentation
  • Supporting Sales and Project Management teams with technical expertise
  • Participating in on-call support activities when required
  • Sharing field feedback and improvement opportunities with internal teams
