This position is located in Rio Rancho, NM. The Field Service Engineer (CSE) is responsible for repairing system-level problems that have multiple causes and for which no standard procedures exist, relying on their technical knowledge, education, training, and certification. CSEs may identify process issues in customer facilities, such as chemical leaks or contamination, and may recommend shutting down a customer fab due to unsafe conditions. They will prepare field service reports on customer support activity and document recurring problems for other supporting functions. Additionally, CSEs will prepare quotes for customers based on labor, travel expenses, and parts, using discretion to determine fair pricing based on the reason for equipment failure and repair time. They will also cross-train and assist other field service engineers, providing guidance to less senior CSEs and technical assistance to Installation Engineers. The role involves conducting customer orientation and technical training on equipment maintenance and user applications. Travel by car or commercial transportation to customer facilities is required, supporting customers throughout the western US and other regions in North America as needed. The CSE will contribute to knowledge management by capturing, reusing, collaborating on, and improving knowledge using available systems.
