About The Position

This position provides specialized repair (radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, etc.) and maintenance services to diagnostic imaging equipment and biomedical equipment. In addition to duties of Field Service Specialist I, performs repair and maintenance on intermediate imaging equipment, such as Digital Radiography units, basic CT, CT Sim, basic oncology and Vascular/Specials systems more than 60% of the time. Utilizes training opportunities to significantly reduce contract dependency for the same equipment. Employee functions as a leader in the Clinical Engineering department, providing oversight and assistance to FSS, for the efficient and cost effective repair and maintenance of imaging equipment. Effectively handles all service emergencies and necessary communications with Vendor, Department, and Clinical Engineering Account Manager. Assists in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of Diagnostic Imaging and Biomedical equipment. Is capable of providing coverage and support for Account Manager during manager's absence. Provides input to the Account Manager regarding new service opportunities within a location serviced by the Clinical Engineering Division. Provides appropriate service cost history to the Account Manager with an emphasis on Contract Vs. Time and Material contrast for the continual reduction of service expense. May also provide repair and maintenance of general biomedical equipment as secondary responsibility or as assigned. #ClinicalEngineering

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience servicing medical imaging equipment such as General X-Ray (Rad, including but not limited to Rad Rooms, Portables and C-Arms)
  • Must have the ability to repair and maintain a wide variety of imaging equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in the standardized situations
  • Must be familiar with MS Office Suite and internet based applications
  • Reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) certification preferred
