About The Position

Avante Health Solutions is seeking a Philips/Siemens Diagnostic Imaging Field Service Engineer (FSE) to be based in or relocate to the Champaign, IL area. The FSE will provide frontline support by troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying the performance of complex diagnostic imaging equipment. This role involves resolving customer issues, providing technical expertise, and maintaining regular communication with internal and external customers. The position is remote, dispatched from home, and requires timely travel to customer sites within an assigned territory, with potential for backup support in other territories. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in biomedical, electrical/electronics, or computer engineering technology; military training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CV/ CT diagnostic imaging equipment troubleshooting and repair experience desired.
  • Travel to customer site will include 75-85 percent of work.
  • Must be willing and able to travel by all modes of transportation.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record meeting company requirements and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.
  • Ability to resolve problems quickly involving multiple variables with limited supervision and/or procedural standardization.
  • Frequently required to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 100 lbs while working with medical equipment.
  • Frequently required to bend, crouch, kneel, climb, balance, or otherwise maneuver body while servicing and/or inspecting medical equipment.
  • Driving record that is insurable.

Nice To Haves

  • Advance troubleshooting knowledge of any combination of multi-OEM, multi-modality field service experience a plus.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary onsite support engineer for customers within the assigned territory for contract, warranty, and billable service calls.
  • Provide back-up onsite support in other territories as necessary.
  • Communicate with the internal Service Support team to provide and receive detailed follow-up information on service calls and bring issues to closure.
  • Ensure company values are upheld in all customer communications and provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Represent Avante in a professional and positive manner.
  • Use critical thinking to resolve issues within defined procedures and practices to repair equipment rapidly and accurately.
  • Consult with the Director of Service, Service Manager, and technical staff via phone, Teams, and email to troubleshoot systems, diagnose problems, and determine the best resolution.
  • Effectively communicate system status and escalation times per Avante Escalation Procedure.
  • Travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair system failures.
  • Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) services.
  • Undertake other duties as required by contract or leadership direction.
  • Resolve system and component issues by reloading software and replacing hardware to maximize equipment performance to OEM specifications.
  • Generate system sales leads and communicate them to the sales team.
  • Train and disseminate knowledge to the organization regarding equipment.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation schedule for after-hours technical support calls.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per ISO 13485:2016 standards and the Company's Quality Management System.
  • Demonstrate success and passion for servicing and learning new technologies, including training opportunities in Avante supported modalities and system models.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to processes and offer applications and solutions for optimal efficiency.
  • Work professionally, respectfully, and efficiently with all levels within the organization.
  • Adhere to all company employment policies and safe practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
