As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help solve customer problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to building customer success. You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Cellular Analysis instruments. Our product lines include hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • The ideal candidate will reside in the Phoenix AZ metro area.
  • The position requires an active driver's license.
  • Bachelor's, Master's or other university-level degrees within the science field -- e.g. biochemistry, biotechnology or similar-- are highly preferred; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including repair, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting.
  • Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability; typically, system/ solution-focused.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or expertise with Pathology handling equipment specifically IHC instrumentation.
  • Experience in Medical Diagnostics would be ideal.
  • Familiarity with functioning within the service standards of ISO 13485.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
  • Performs maintenance and repair services.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
  • Proactively responds to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
  • Delivers (does not design) fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.
  • Serves as an internal resource on technical issues and manages product escalations.
  • Collaborates with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions to customers.
  • May have knowledge of third-party products.
  • May deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field engineers or customers.
  • May train other field engineers or customers.
  • May qualify leads.
  • Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to, post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs.

  • The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $43.12 - $67.37/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.
