Saalex Corporation is seeking multiple Field Service Engineer I in Tidewater, VA and San Diego, CA. The Field Service Engineer I supports the Navy by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT, network, and hardware systems at fielded locations. This role focuses on hands-on technical support, system integration, and sustainment of mission-critical infrastructure across CONUS and OCONUS environments.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in field service engineering, IT support, or related technical field.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Hands-on experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IT or network systems.
Familiarity with hardware components, cabling, and basic network configurations.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance.
Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments.
Effective communication skills and ability to work independently on-site.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting DoD or Navy fielded systems and remote sites.
Familiarity with ruggedized systems, tactical communications, or deployed environments.
Experience with imaging, system deployment tools, or configuration scripts.
Active Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, network equipment, and peripheral systems at field sites.
Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair of systems including servers, workstations, and network devices.
Support system integration, upgrades, and deployment activities in accordance with engineering and program requirements.
Execute preventive maintenance and system health checks to ensure operational readiness.
Document field activities, configurations, and issue resolution in accordance with program standards.
Collaborate with engineering, network, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues.
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including STIGs and system hardening requirements during installations.
Support logistics coordination for equipment, spares, and replacement parts.
