What you’ll do As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting scientists and researchers by ensuring our advanced instruments perform at their best. You’ll be the face of Thermo Fisher Scientific—delivering exceptional technical service while building trusted relationships with customers who are driving innovation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (no prior experience required)
  • Strong mechanical and electronics aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot at the component level
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to urgent service needs
  • Ability to obtain credentials required to access customer facilities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Organized with strong time management abilities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Biomedical) or related scientific field
  • Experience installing, maintaining, or repairing analytical or laboratory instruments
  • Familiarity with ultra-high vacuum systems and high-voltage equipment
  • Proficiency with Windows OS, MS Office, and service management tools
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
