About The Position

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Harlingen, TX. In this role, you will make an impact by completing repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field, developing productive customer relations, and ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools. You will also assist with completing required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Additionally, you will complete training in line with skill and business requirements and ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues/incidents to your supervisor.

Requirements

  • Field Service Diesel Engine Technician experience
  • Specialized tools and knowledge of documented procedures and policies
  • Ability to complete required documentation

Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field
  • Develop productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor
  • Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Identifies additional service opportunities with customer.
  • Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
