We are seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer to support automated systems within Pennsylvania and the surrounding regions. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and providing field service support for complex automated systems. You will contribute to innovative automation projects, solving technical challenges across a range of industries while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver effective, customer-focused solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related engineering role.
  • Familiarity with equipment and validation processes.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • PLC: Allen-Bradley (Logix/Studio 5000), Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal)
  • HMI: Allen-Bradley, Siemens
  • Robotics: FANUC, Epson
  • Networking: Ethernet, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, IO-Link, EtherCAT
  • Motion Control: Allen-Bradley, Siemens, IAI, Festo, B&R, etc.
  • Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence

Nice To Haves

  • PLC: Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Beckhoff
  • HMI: Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Pro-face
  • Robotics: KUKA, Yaskawa, Denso, Stäubli
  • Testing/Monitoring: Force (Kistler, SigPOD), Leak Testing (CTS, Cosmo, etc.)
  • Database Tools: Ignition, FTTM, SQL
  • Experience with both mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites, both planned and unplanned, to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and repair services.
  • Perform system adjustments to restore and maintain operational performance.
  • Deliver remote support using various connectivity tools and platforms.
  • Create, interpret, and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical schematics and bills of material using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Execute robot programming and path modifications to maintain or improve system functionality.
  • Develop and modify control programs for automated equipment and systems.
  • Conduct electrical testing using standard diagnostic tools such as multimeters.
  • Apply proper wiring standards and practices to ensure system safety and reliability.
  • Design and troubleshoot ladder logic and machine control systems using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to establish and achieve machine performance objectives.
  • Maintain working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers to support team development.
