About The Position

As a Field Sales Representative, you’ll be part of our Nelson Stud Welding Sales team working as a remote employee covering the East Coast territory in Florida. Nelson Stud Welding is the inventor and leader in the stud welding marketplace. You’ll get to: Sell, promote, demonstrate, teach, and service/repair the process of stud welding including Nelson studs, accessories, and stud welding equipment. Maintain existing customers base while also growing customer base to new levels. Be responsible for customers and prospects in the Construction, Industrial, and Specialty (shipbuilding) markets. Spend time in the field doing demonstration, training, and support but also spend time in the office doing quotes and following up with prospects. Function as a technical adviser for equipment sales and setup, field training, process improvement, and equipment repair and maintenance. Understand the product, service, and equipment so that you can provide technical information and answer questions and requests from customers and engineers. Establish and service new accounts identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales calls. Gain new customers by explaining and demonstrating the cost savings of the stud welding process Enter orders, track orders, look at inventory with the support of a seasoned Inside Sales/Customer Service team. The position will require general travel throughout the Florida territory. You will be supported by our regional manager, regional warehouse, regional service technician, the corporate office and other sales reps across the country.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of inside or outside sale experience or experience with construction management, project management for steel erection/fabrication, engineering, welding, shipbuilding, or industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and a general knowledge of hand tools.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude, as the position does require mechanical and electrical repairs at the customer locations with the support of your regional technician.
  • This is a service based selling position, requiring travel throughout the territory in Florida.
  • You are required to live within this territory to be able to best serve the customer base there.
  • Self-motivated, trustworthy, and willingness to learn and grow are three main personal attributes we are looking for.

Nice To Haves

  • Being located centrally in the state would be a major advantage.
  • Experience in the construction industry, especially steel erection, steel fabrication and/or precast concrete and/or working with shipyards is a major advantage as those are the largest customer bases for us.
