About The Position

McKenna Engineering is seeking a self-motivated Field Sales Engineer responsible for growing sales in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey counties. The role involves selling products and offering services such as application engineering, system engineering, fabrication, modular packaging, equipment installation, and service & repair. The products serviced include centrifugal pumps, industrial blowers, vacuum pumps, gas compressors, industrial fans, sanitary process equipment, and municipal process equipment, serving almost every industry in California. This is a commission sales position.

Requirements

  • Ability to feel comfortable speaking with customers
  • Four Year Higher Education Degree – Engineering preferred
  • Five (2-5) years of related experience
  • Strong/motivated work ethic
  • Ability to communicate with customers
  • Strong decision-making capabilities
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Must live within the geographical territory (Fresno, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey counties)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct 12-14 in-person sales calls per week to discuss projects, equipment offerings, and customer needs.
  • Take detailed notes during sales calls to gather necessary data for equipment sizing.
  • Describe customer processes to the engineering team for accurate equipment sizing.
  • Write complete proposals with a defined scope of supply.
  • Update Salesforce (CRM) daily with sales call information, uncovered opportunities, new customer contacts, and upcoming meetings.
  • Follow up with customers on open opportunities and upcoming purchase orders.
  • Provide an order write-up form, cost sheet, proposal, and purchase order copy for order processing upon receipt of a purchase order.
  • Continuously learn about the features, functions, and benefits of offered equipment.
  • Manage projects from a high level to maintain awareness and provide customer updates.
  • Act as a team leader with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
