The Field Safety Supervisor monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to plant and personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations. This role works closely with staff in project management, human resources, legal, operations, and research and development. The supervisor provides technical safety and health support and information to field and corporate personnel, enforces safety and health programs and policies, and identifies company safety training needs, developing and coordinating safety training programs. They participate in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses and operator training, and support corporate/Project Management in implementing engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards. Additionally, the role supports field personnel in selecting appropriate personal protective equipment, maintains the corporate safety library, and promotes safety and health awareness through internal communications and training programs. The Field Safety Supervisor serves as a member of the executive environmental health and safety committee and the company occupational safety and health committee. They assist in the implementation of a hazard communication program and preparation of reports, review process-operating procedures/records for safety and health considerations, and stay updated on federal and state occupational safety and health regulations, monitoring regulatory changes. The position provides technical support to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, audits practices and records of manufacturing plants, monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims, and reviews incident investigation reports and safety committee meeting minutes, following up as necessary. The role also involves developing and coordinating SWPs, JSA, and other safety planning documents.
