About The Position

The Field Roof Inspector works as an independent contractor in Hancock’s network. The role involves assessing steep and high roofs, evaluating exterior and interior damage, and conducting underwriting property inspections. Inspectors use technology to help assess property damage and prevent further harm until permanent repairs are complete. The position is located in Troy, Alabama.

Requirements

• Ability to safely navigate and inspect any type of roof, especially steep and high roofs.
• Technical ability to complete inspections in varied weather conditions.
• Professionalism, attention to detail, strong customer service skills, empathy when dealing with insureds, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Reliable truck, van, or SUV capable of transporting and carrying at least a 32-foot ladder.
• Lidar-equipped device or ability to obtain one, such as an iPad Pro or iPhone 12 Pro or later.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Teams.
• Ability to obtain any certifications or credentials required to join the contractor pool.

Nice To Haves

• Roofing or construction-related background and/or insurance claims experience.
• HAAG Certification.
