About The Position
We are looking for highly skilled Field Repair Technicians who can work as key members of our multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot, test, and repair complex robotic systems for our on-site Atlas fleet at the Robotic Mobile Application Center (RMAC). This role is a unique blend of mechanical assembly and sophisticated electronic troubleshooting. You will be responsible for maintaining our humanoid platform, ensuring that one of the world's most advanced humanoid robots maintains peak performance during rigorous testing cycles.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with mechanical assembly and teardowns.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and using a multimeter for continuity and voltage testing.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
Nice To Haves
- Comfort with Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) command-line operations.
- Experience in Automotive, Aviation or specialty repair and maintenance.
- Ability to read/write basic BASH and Python for automation of repetitive test sequences.
- Experience with high-voltage battery systems and complex electro-mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex repairs and preventive maintenance on high-performance humanoid robots.
- Utilize hand tools and torque wrenches to meet exacting tolerances; Atlas requires extreme precision to maintain balance and structural integrity.
- Use laptop computers, multimeters and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot power distribution systems, sensor arrays, and communication bus issues.
- Work within a Linux environment to run system checks, utilizing BASH scripts and Python routines to verify hardware health after repairs.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across engineering, software, and operations to resolve issues and maintain maximum robot uptime.
- Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, tracking consumption and availability to ensure operational readiness for all repair tasks.
