About The Position

The Field Project Controls Manager position is located at the project site in Beech Island, South Carolina. The project involves a lump sum EPC project for a 1 x 0 GE F-class dual fuel simple cycle combustion turbine with hot selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, with a nominal capacity of 190MW. This role has supervisory/lead responsibility over a group of project controls personnel or functions as a technical specialist developing advanced concepts. The position supervises the work of others and is responsible for overall performance management. The manager may also be responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.

Requirements

Four-year Bachelor's degree with ten or more years of relevant Cost Control of Planning & Scheduling experience OR no four-year Bachelor's degree required with twelve years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree or local equivalent in Engineering or Construction Management.
Experience serving in a Leadership role for a medium- to large-sized EPC project in both Home Office and Field.
Certificate from either PMI or AACE.

Responsibilities

Manages a diverse team of professionals and is able to achieve successful results and function as a technical specialist developing advanced concepts.
May be responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of others.
Leads cost control team.
Addresses contractual requirements related to cost control.
Leads planning and schedule preparation on more complex projects including startup planning.
Addresses contractual requirements related to schedule control.
Acts as an expert in scheduling forensics as required by the business unit.
Recognizes critical issues and interfaces.
Confers with PM team on project execution matters.
Participates in key risk management discussions.
Participates in and may lead any potential claims issues.
Manages controls functions from home office to site as appropriate.
Supervises subcontract administration when assigned.
Ensures compliance with tools/processes in Field Project Controls Manual as applicable.
Ensures startup planning is at the appropriate level of detail as applicable.
Collaborates with the project management leadership team to ensure project success.
Supervises work of others.
Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.
