About The Position

The Field Operator III – Production is responsible for operating equipment and wells by applying operating and safety procedures and guidelines to meet daily operational plans, reduce equipment failure, and ensure efficient resource administration. This role involves active participation in safety meetings, identifying and implementing corrective actions, performing routine maintenance, and documenting operational events. The operator will also take product samples, participate in emergency response, and ensure effective communication within the team and with the Operations Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Completed secondary education.
  • Previous experience working as a Field Technician.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High standard of Safety, Health, and Environmental awareness and the ability to promote the same in others.
  • Extensive knowledge and/or experience in pipeline operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety and operations management tools and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Emergency Preparedness Procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of Project Philosophy and Design Specifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations.
  • Knowledge of relevant commercial agreements.
  • Oil & Gas Production experience required.
  • Control Room experience required/preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and wells by applying operating and safety procedures and guidelines to meet daily operational plan, reduce equipment failure, and ensure efficient resource administration.
  • Implement daily work objectives related to housekeeping, safety, health, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings and regular reported safety meetings.
  • Identify and implement corrective and optimization actions through continuous surveillance of wells and equipment to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operating conditions.
  • Function as Equipment Care Technician and routinely utilize maintenance skills while performing simple maintenance activities.
  • Report when the alarm, emergency, or emergency shutdown system is out of service.
  • Provide detailed, clear, and accurate information during shift handovers to ensure unit conditions are updated and operations continuity is maintained.
  • Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance work in accordance with corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Continuously document relevant operational events, abnormal situations, and deviations involving equipment, personnel, or the work area in the logbook.
  • Take product samples for laboratory analysis and perform field laboratory testing.
  • Actively participate in emergency response activities.
  • Report incidents internally and escalate awareness in accordance with Incident Reporting Guidelines.
  • Ensure the Operations Shift Supervisor is informed and consulted regarding operational activities.
  • Maintain effective communication across the work team to ensure issues and actions are properly addressed.
  • Provide basic facts concerning well production problems, current production rates, and current well conditions.
  • Ensure well problem diagnostics are thorough and complete before requesting Well Work intervention operations.
  • Ensure wellhead and surface equipment are maintained and in proper working order prior to turnover to Well Work intervention teams.
  • Provide assistance and support to ongoing Well Work operations as needed.
