About The Position

The Field Operator III – Compressor Operator is responsible for operating equipment and wells by applying operating and safety procedures and guidelines to meet daily operational plans, reduce equipment failure, and ensure efficient resource utilization. This role involves implementing daily work objectives, monitoring wells and equipment, performing basic maintenance, reporting alarms and outages, and ensuring operational continuity through clear shift handovers.

Requirements

  • Secondary education required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
  • Extensive knowledge of pipeline operations
  • Strong understanding of safety and operations management systems
  • Knowledge of Emergency Preparedness Procedures
  • Familiarity with project philosophy and design specifications
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and commercial agreements
  • Hands-on compression experience (required)
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with both small and large horsepower compression systems

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Field Technician experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement daily work objectives including housekeeping, safety, health, environmental, and security standards
  • Actively participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Monitor wells and equipment to identify and execute corrective and optimization actions
  • Perform basic maintenance activities as an Equipment Care Technician
  • Report alarms, emergency conditions, or shutdown system outages
  • Provide clear and detailed shift handovers to ensure operational continuity
  • Coordinate and monitor maintenance activities (corrective, predictive, preventive)
  • Maintain accurate logbook entries of operational events and abnormalities
  • Collect samples and perform field laboratory testing
  • Participate in emergency response activities
  • Report incidents and escalate per Incident Reporting Guidelines
  • Maintain communication with Operations Shift Supervisor on all activities
  • Ensure effective team communication for issue resolution
  • Diagnose well performance issues and provide accurate production data
  • Ensure thorough diagnostics prior to requesting Wellwork intervention
  • Verify wellhead and surface equipment readiness prior to intervention work
  • Support Wellwork operations as required
