About The Position

The Field Operator II or III – Water Transfer Tech is a 100% field-based position providing ExxonMobil oversight of water-transfer operations supporting construction, drilling, completions, and other field activities. The position requires 2–5 years of relevant water-transfer/field operations experience, with Level II or Level III determined based on the candidate's experience. This role requires hands-on knowledge of field-based water-transfer systems, water lines, hose and poly systems, pond-to-pond transfers, frac-pad operations, and rig-up/rig-down activities. The Water Transfer Tech will provide direct field oversight of contractors, ensuring crews are using the proper tools, equipment, procedures, and safe work practices.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience is required/ideal, with direct water-transfer experience strongly desired.
  • Practical field experience with water-transfer operations, including rig-ups/rig-downs, frac pads, water lines, hose/poly systems, pond-to-pond transfers, contractor oversight, and safe equipment/tool usage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field oversight of water-transfer operations from supply-water pipelines, ponds, and other water sources to receiver sites.
  • Attend and oversee rig-up and rig-down (RU/RD) activities for water-transfer operations.
  • Support water-transfer activities associated with frac pads, construction, drilling, and completions.
  • Work with and oversee field water lines, hose, poly pipe, connections, pumps, and associated water-transfer equipment.
  • Support pond-to-pond and supply-to-receiver-site water transfers.
  • Bird-dog contractors in the field, providing active oversight of contractor activities and work execution.
  • Verify contractors are using the correct tools and equipment and following established procedures and standards.
  • Support and perform verification and validation of contractor compliance with ExxonMobil safety-program expectations, including PSMS and WMS requirements.
  • Serve as the Water Management/Water Transfer representative at receiver sites.
  • Monitor water-transfer systems and check lines, connections, equipment, and transfer points for leaks.
  • Verify setup readiness for third-party sales activities.
  • Verify connections, equipment, metering, and overall system readiness and integrity.
  • Support diesel-extract activities as required.
  • Maintain a strong field presence and coordinate with contractors and site personnel to ensure safe and efficient execution.
