About The Position

HYRUM CITY is accepting resumes for a full-time Level I, II, or III Water Operator in the Culinary Water & Irrigation Department. Candidates will be required to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating on-call shifts, overtime, and available for emergency call outs. Upon employment, the employee must reside in Hyrum City or no further than fifteen miles from the city office.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain Utah Water Distribution Classification Grade II or higher within twenty four months of employment (Level I)
  • Must possess a Utah Drivers License (Level I)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating heavy equipment (Level I)
  • Proficient with various software (Level I)
  • Must possess a Utah Certified Water Systems Operator II or higher (Level II)
  • 2 years of experience in repairing water leaks and installing water lines (Level II)
  • Must possess a Class B CDL (Level II & III)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with trackhoe and backhoe excavating around utilities (Level II & III)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience operating a vac truck, snowplow; and other miscellaneous heavy equipment (Level II & III)
  • Knowledge of proper barricading and signage requirements (Level II & III)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with chlorination systems, wells, and PRV stations (Level II)
  • Must be a Utah Certified Water Systems Operator III or IV Unrestricted (Level III)
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with chlorination systems, wells, and PRV stations (Level III)
  • Requires ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor lifting upto 75 pounds
  • Requires ability to twist, kneel, and bend for associated tasks performed in the field
  • Ability to work in extreme hot and cold environmental conditions
  • Be available for snow removal from October through April
  • Must reside in Hyrum City or no further than fifteen miles from city office upon employment

Responsibilities

  • Operating heavy equipment (Level I: minimum 2 years; Level II & III: minimum 4 years)
  • Repairing water leaks and installing water lines (Level II & III: minimum 2 years for Level II, 4 years for Level III)
  • Excavating around utilities with trackhoe and backhoe (Level II & III: minimum 4 years)
  • Operating a vac truck and snowplow (Level II & III: minimum 4 years)
  • Operating miscellaneous heavy equipment (Level II & III: minimum 4 years)
  • Knowledge of proper barricading and signage requirements (Level II & III)

  • Performing moderately heavy physical labor lifting up to 75 pounds
